Founded in by Jeanne Manford in response to her son Morton's brutal assault during a gay pride rally, PFLAG emerged from a need for familial support amidst the rising visibility of the LGBTQ+ rights movement. We listen actively, engage with cultural humility, and ensure that the power of diverse people, cultures, and stories are respected and woven through all areas of our work.
